John Dadzie, better known by his musical alias 12th Planet, is a dubstep producer and DJ based out of Los Angeles. Originally making his name as a drum-n-bass producer using the moniker Infiltrata, John changed his sound and his name to bring the up and coming sound of dubstep to the world. Above & Beyond
There are DJs who can rock a party, a club, a festival. And there are acts that can write songs that will bring out the goose bumps in you. But there's only one group that can do both: Above & Beyond. Currently fifth in the DJ Magazine annual poll - the highest-placed Brits - in the last year alone, they have sound-tracked the unveiling of a new space-ship, performed an acoustic show in a hot air balloon, and entranced a crowd of 8,000 in Beirut with their first full live show. For the world's most famous trance trio, there are no limits. "There's so much going on," says Tony McGuinness. "We're trying to do so many things."Loading audio...
Befitting his position as the leading figure of the Dutch new wave, his success stretches far beyond his home turf; 2010 has seen him become one of the most in demand DJ/producers in the world. Afrojack's rise to fame as a producer has brought him a roll call of A-list champions from Pete Tong to David Guetta, and Josh Wink to Fedde Le Grand, along the way collaborating with some of the world's most respected producers and artists like David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Pitbull and Black Eyed Peas. His single, "Take Over Control ft. Eva Simons," is one of the hottest club anthems on the planet, hitting No 2. on Beatport and has already reached over 1 million views on YouTube. AN21 & Max Vangeli
Ask him which DJs have helped shape his sound and AN21 says that he loves everyone from Joris Voorn and Carl Cox to Luciano, Steve Lawler, Erick Morillo and of course his brother, Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia. Music-wise, it won't be long before every single one of those DJs is hammering his productions. He's remixed music for major artists like Basement Jaxx ("Raindrops") and Tommy Sparks already but he also has an EP upcoming on his brother's label Size. Because like his brother - and the DJs he loves - Antoine's productions are all about great drops, great builds and bags of energy. House music with melody and emotion.
Max Vangeli is "one of the most promising artists for 2011" as described by MTV.com, having grabbed the attention of electronic music fans worldwide. Last year, his massive remix of Pendulum's "The Island" with Steve Angello and AN21 was named "hottest track in the world" by BBC Radio One's Zane Lowe and "Swedish Beauty" was named Essential New Tune by Pete Tong. Max Vangeli is due to release his upcoming debut album 'People of the Night,' which he describes as "dark techy beats to big melodic house," with AN21 on Steve Angello's Size Records later this year.Loading audio...

A leading light on the Beatbox scene since he landed on it with a bang in the mid noughties, Beardyman, (real name Darren Foreman) has always pushed beatbox way beyond what most beatboxers consider its limits. A uniquely gifted performer, his refusal to be put in a box has seen him beatbox all over the world including support slots touring with Groove Armada and hosting huge festival stages. However, all this was not enough for Foreman. Frustrated with the restrictions of the human mouth, but still obsessed with it's unparalleled capabilities, he quickly became a leading figure in the emerging trend of live-looping, being the first to appropriate the Korg Kaoss Pad as a live-looping tool and pushing his beatbox-based art form into the entrancing and uncharted realms of live-production. Now, when playing to screaming fans all over the world, he uses an ever-growing arsenal of sound manipulation technology to take the ever-growing crowds with him on full-length musical journeys, darting from exhilaratingly ad-hoc rave-up to comedic musings and interpretations and mash-ups of classic tunes from a huge range of genres.

Benny became a worldwide phenomenon with his 2002 single "Satisfaction," which formally introduced audiences everywhere to his unique and undeniable electro soul. Benny also left his stamp on Public Enemy classic "Bring the Noise" with a 2007 remix that eventually won him a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording (Dance). Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77
Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 are on a planetary electropunk odyssey, leaving an unbridled, ecstatic public in their wake. What are the ingredients of this musical feat? Mix the classical but audacious rigor of Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo with the energy of Tommy Tea and the rhythmic sense of the drummer Battle. A self-sufficient universe where craziness takes the shape of a perpetually changing postmodern opera with an aggravated desire to keep the audience constantly on its toes in countless ways: remixes, collaborations, videos. Sir Bob strikes everywhere, presenting himself to the world wearing the symbolic Venom mask, creating a dark anonymity that feeds his music and the fantasy it generates, causing his rebel clubber image to implode as he unites artistic global talents around a common creative cause. His aim? To provoke multiple cultural explosions in the trail of a music that is at once visceral and seismic. The final proof of his invasion of popular culture are his side projects for Interscope, Electronic Arts, Activision, CBS, Epitaph, Sony, Ministry Of Sound, Universal, Skins, CSI Miami, Entourage, Fast 5, Need For Speed and DJ Hero 2. Since 2007 he has been constantly present in the iTunes Electronic Top 10 chart.Loading audio...

A musical ambassador since he was in short trousers, a professional DJ since his early teens, a veteran of acid house and a champion of techno, Carl Cox emits a love of his work that is dangerously infectious. Check him when he's behind the turntables and you can't mistake his ecstatic visage, dripping with sweat as his head bobs up and down to the beat, his hands pumping the air whenever they're not manipulating the turntables, his body swaying back and forth, frequently taking to the mike to share word on the latest underground tune he's about to break. You name it, Carl's been there and done it, but he's never lost sight of the point of it: playing music, breaking tunes, spreading love, celebrating life.Loading audio...

"You gonna love the house!" This is what DJ Mehdi told Riton when he invited him for a tour of the Chicago ghetto music he'd been stashing for 3 years, waiting for the good moment to reveal. And this is exactly what happened: British grand master DJ and producer Riton moved in, and wanted to never leave. He loved the House, they loved the House. They got married and lived very happily during the years 2009 and 10. Their brainchild was born: everybody welcomed Carte Blanche. And they weren't the only ones. Ed Banger honcho Busy P snatched the mp3s that were bouncing back and forth accross the Chunnel for a soon release on the label. The result? Five tracks of neck-breaking breaks, a shout-out to the masters, with no nostalgia whatsoever, called 'Black Billionaires' and released on Ed Banger Records. The record includes club monster "Gare Du Nord" as well as the catchy "Do! Do! Do!" featuring Kid Sister. Four decks, one mixer, and a TR 909, of course. No bangers, strictly house music.

Last year, the electrofunk duo Chromeo pushed forward into yet newer levels of song craft and body moving music that is respectfully indebted to its noble inspirations while still being fully contemporary with the release of 'Business Casual,' their third full-length album. It's a testament to the growth and further sophistication that Dave 1 and P-Thugg have undergone over the many years they've been collaborating. After their sophomore release 'Fancy Footwork' pushed them into the stratosphere of party-rocking, club-banging, and heart-thrilling electrofunk, 'Business Casual' might be considered their postgraduate work, containing their hit "Don't Turn the Lights On." Is there any other topic that Chromeo needs to cover? Arrogant ladies, dancefloor seduction, boudoir skills, love gone wrong, and knights in shining armor…Chromeo does all this and more with their trademark Franco-insouciance-that-borders-on-coolness and their always sexy worldliness (pause).
Phra and Bot aka Crookers, The first born and raised in Omegna, a picturesque town of Lake Orta, the second in Milan. Together they are the young Italian duo who, for some years now, have been travelling on and on in every continent known to man, setting dance floors and millions of people's eardrums on fire. It all started in 2007 when the first overpowering mixtape signed Crookers emerged from the lake's darkness: A deep house and rap based experiment that brakes every sound barrier, slipping into genius. From the beginning, their style is characterized by an apparently impossibile but fully functional musical constellation: street style, rap, house, fidget and trance. In 2008 Crookers' range choice goes off with "Day 'n' Nite", a remix of, at the time unknown, Kid Cudi. In 2010 they released an album called 'Tons of Friends,' a title which sums up Crookers' friends: Kelis, Wil I Am, Roisin Murphy, Soul Wax, Major Lazer, Sepultura's Igor Cavalera, Rye Rye and many others. Once again Crookers mix at every musical latitude passing through house, dubstep, reggae, rap and melodic grime.Loading audio...

He also celebrated 100 episodes and four years of his award winning podcast, collaborated with Above & Beyond for the crossover international radio hit 'On A Good Day (Metropolis)', and penned the theme tune of the Global Gathering festival - whilst also finding time to play 130 shows, selling out clubs and rocking festivals in 40 countries to over 2 million people.
Good music is felt, not heard. Apparently Gramatik understood that at the age of 3, when his mother would catch him glued to the radio in his older sister's room. Not unlike other great European artists of the past, the Slovenian producer was heavily influenced by American music early on, taking in everything from Funk and Jazz to Soul and Blues. With over 80,000 tracks sold on the influential electronic music site Beatport.com in the past 2 years, topping all kinds of genre charts, Gramatik has matured from a curious kid attracted by soundscapes, to a world-class producer. Gramatik is now known in electronic and hip-hop circles around the globe, touring with the likes of Pretty Lights, The Glitch Mob, Mimosa, Two Fresh and many others.Loading audio...

A classically-trained jazz virtuoso and national rock 'n' roll hero in Argentina, Guti was born in an exceptionally musical family, which included orchestra directors, saxophone players and pianists. As a teen, after getting into blues he began hanging with successful Argentine rock bands like the Black and Blues, Ratones Paranoicos, Viejas Locas and Los Piojos. "We were jamming, and I discovered that energy." Before long, his own band Jovenes Pordioseros were playing to 10,000 people from Thursday through Saturday. But it's not in Guti's nature to stay locked in one mode of music. A heartbeat later, he'd landed a hit with Damian Schwarz on Frankfurt label Raum...Musik, and the tune was licensed by Loco Dice for his compilation The Lab. Guti passed a handful more tracks in Loco Dice's direction. In 2010 Guti moved to Düsseldorf to hunker down in the studio to concentrate on the Guti Techno and House project. The result was his stunning debut album "Patio de juegos" released on Desolat.Loading audio...
Guy Gerber has always been comfortable as an outlier. From being the rock kid at the rave, to the Israeli DJ on the European club circuit, to the electronic producer with a fetish for live instruments, he tends to skirt the edge of whatever scene he's in. It's a position that suits him well--so far it's led to dozens of lush, melodic records, an ever evolving live act and his own label, Supplemental Facts. This nonconformist attitude, combined with the emotional content of his art (so rare in today's electronic music), explains how Gerber keeps his audience locked in, be it on record or on stage.Loading audio...

The name High Contrast needs no introduction anymore; though when a young Lincoln Barrett signed on the dotted line back in 2000 he was a complete unknown. Signed on the strength of his mini-disc demos, the Welsh wonder has smashed his way through the drum and bass scene in no time at all. With High Contrast sitting firmly at dance music's top table, in 2009 he became one of a very rare number indeed, a current recording artist to have released a "best of" album - in the form of High Contrast Confidential, a massive double CD taking in the high points of his first three albums as well as all of his seminal remixes. As he reached a decade in the game his star continued to shine brighter than ever in 2010 with rave legends Underworld bringing him in for studio collaboration "Scribble". Keep your eyes firmly peeled as film and video projects as well as new music all get tee’d up to be unleashed on an expectant world in 2011.

British DJ and producer James Holden may see himself as leader of a small group of electronic artists on the outskirts of the music industry, along with Nathan Fake, Luke Abbot, and Fairmont, naming his record label Border Community, but he holds universal appeal. He is far from unrecognized or unappreciated by listeners or creators, on both ends of the electronic music spectrum, establishing himself in Trance and Techno to New Wave and House. In a world awash with carbon copy producers, 25-year-old James Cayzer aka Jaytech is a bright exception. Proof of his rising stock behind the turntables, a packed DJ diary has recently taken in dates at Ibiza's Amnesia, London's Brixton Academy and Japan's world-famous Womb. Joachim Garraud was born in Nantes, France on September 27th, 1968, and after perfecting his piano and percussion skills for seven years at the conservatory, he found an attraction toward electronic music and began his dance music production career. Joachim then played alongside Techno legend, Laurent Garnier, at The Boy in Paris; the club that many give credit as the birthplace of the Techno phenomenon in France. A pioneer of numerical music, he created his own recording studio in Paris, which allowed him to remix, compose and produce artists such as David Guetta, Jean-Michel Jarre, Paul Johnson, Deep Dish, David Bowie, OMD, Kylie Minogue, Mylène Farmer, Cassius, Ceronne, Moby, Robbie Rivera, and many more. Joachim developed a new concept, blending DJing and musical improvisation, thus giving a true concert, a unique live performance which soon gave him the opportunity to perform all over the world. Today, he has formed a unified community under his musicianship using his Invasion live set and Space Invader mascot.
John Dahlbäck is further testament to the theory that when it comes to overly talented musical homelands, there could indeed be something in Sweden's water. Born in 1985 in a small village near Stockholm, he landed his first record deal aged just 15 while most of his peers were just discovering clubs. Now 25, he's the proud owner of a label, has a string of well-known productions to his name and a reputation for quietly turning out some of the best house melodies you could hope to hear. As his star ascends, John has found himself on the bill with established names such as Erick Morillo at the opening of Pulse, and at Pacha in Ibiza this summer. He'll also be a regular at Toolroom Ibiza, perfect for John's simple agenda for making and playing music. "I love to play for dancing people, to really see them loving the tunes. And I love to make the tunes that get them dancing..."
If you're not an avid follower of dance music but are tuned into popular culture at all you've likely experienced music touched by the hands of John Digweed. Originally hailing from England but having clearly arrived on the global scene well over a decade ago John has long since cemented his name in the pages of dance music history. His list of achievements is groundbreaking to say the least. Highlights of which would be the first proper dj mix compilation ("The Mix Collection", done with Sasha), being the first British dj to hold a residency at what was then the world's most well known club in NYC (Twilo, also with Sasha) as well as having remixed music by William Orbit, Underworld, Quincy Jones, Mr Fogg and New Order. John Digweed is a DJ's DJ. The beauty of what he does lies in just how different he really is from his contemporaries. From his early beginnings in Hastings, England at the age of 15 in the blossoming scene of acid house to the apex of the international dj'ing world he has created and maintained a level of integrity that is the benchmark for both dj's and producers globally.Loading audio...

Every so often a DJ or producer comes along who inspires the collective imagination. If you've seen Loco Dice perform at his ten-year-long Tribehouse residency in his hometown Düsseldorf, or at DC-10 in Ibiza (from '02-'06), you will have clicked to this. Loco Dice is someone who can puzzle together intangible moods with a direct approach. Via his DJ sets or his productions on labels like M_nus, Cadenza, Ovum, Four Twenty and Cocoon, he merges perspectives in his delicate sense for sounds and reflective atmospheres, underpinned with solid, physical grooves inspired by the hip hop that was his early sonic stomping ground in the mid- to late '90s. There's something there for the dreamers, as well as for the 9-to-5ers who just want to lose everything in a moment of abandon on the dancefloor.Loading audio...
In the beginning, DJs were faceless human jukeboxes that played at the whim of their audience. When dance culture boomed DJs became superstars, and fame and ego replaced love of the music. Luciano represents a third way: he is both a single-minded artist completely devoted to music, and a performer whose charisma is an intrinsic part of his global appeal. Luciano fuses art and fame like no other DJ. As a result the humble, Swiss-Chilean DJ, producer and boss of Cadenza Records is one of the biggest stars of the global electronic music scene.

Over 20,000,000 records sold, more than 3,000 performances, and countless sleepless nights have preceded Moby's ninth studio album, 'Destroyed.' He is yet another major artist to add to the roll call of illustrious insomniacs, even if, for him, sleep deprivation is as much about the modern international music star's peripatetic lifestyle as it is an unquenchable creative dynamo. Moby has come to embrace enforced wakefulness, however, and turn it to his advantage - a process he calls "repurposing insomnia." Aside from learning to relish "some amazing sunrises you wouldn't normally see ... stuff that's hidden from the sleeping world," during his last world tour he carried with him a laptop Pro Tools setup, a microphone and keyboard and for the first time began to write and record music on the road. The bleary, after-hours statelessness of the touring regimen, and the awed solitude inherent in gazing out upon silent urban nightscapes, pervade his new compositions."

Experts in mutating today's best urban music into distinctively brutal club grooves, MSTRKRFT are due to release their third studio album this year. Meanwhile, they've released two new tunes, "Beards Again" and "Back in the USSA."

Design is at the heart of this project: first the instruments, then the songs and finally the masks. Whilst massively prolific, a minimalist ethos runs through the work and style of SBTRKT, not just in the name but in the precision of the sonics and arrangements. After dropping audacious white-label re-rubs of Goldie & Radiohead in 2009, SBTRKT has announced himself in 2010 with releases on dubstep stalwarts Ramp + Brainmath & eclectic indie label, Young Turks. Remixes for M.I.A., Modeselektor & Basement Jaxx have left the clubs wanting more and the masked man has obliged in the form of recent collaborative bangers w/ Sinden & Sampha. Whilst record heads and shop salesmen argue over whether SBTRKTs sound is more "techno", "neo-garage" or "dubstep", the forthcoming album plus releases on Tempa, Young Turks and Monkeytown place him comfortably in any category he wishes to occupy...
Sean Tyas & Simon Patterson
Sean Tyas is a born and raised a New Yorker, now living in Europe in Teufen, Switzerland. This best of both worlds artist knows how to bring it when it comes to dancefloor sweat. "I really hope you didn't wear your nice shoes" is a general quote as he hopes you have come for the right reasons and not just to be seen, but to be seen having the fucking time of your life. Playing B2B is "the absolutely breathtaking Simon Patterson" as Pete Tong described him on his Radio 1 Essential Mix in 2009. Currently ranked #28 in the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJ Poll 2010, Simon Patterson is an artist who has confirmed his elevation into the trance super-league with a series of white-hot productions and jaw dropping DJ performances.
SebastiAn has followed such an impressive path that it's hard to believe that he's only now releasing his long-awaited debut album. But the facts are clear: after several EPs (H.A.L, Smoking Kills, Ross Ross Ross, Motor), a record compiling his many remixes for Daft Punk, Kelis and the Kills among others (Sebastian Remixes) and a co production of the soundtrack for the film Steak with Sebastien Tellier and Mr Oizo, in which he also played one of the leading roles. One of the creators, along with Justice, of the Ed Banger sound, he is without a doubt the label's most unusual figure. An iconoclast maverick he readily defies the rules to deliver a dirty and violent kind of techno that coughs and spits; music to his image: human and visceral. Super prolific and constantly effervescent this musician has managed, in the space of a few years, to redefine electronic music and is ready to astound everyone once again with TOTAL, a definitive and meteoric first album.
After moving to NYC from overseas, Serge developed an insatiable taste for electronic music as a bystander to DJ acts at the famed Twilo club in the late 1990's. It was in another legendary NYC club of the time, Tunnel, where Serge began his DJ career not long after. Those lucky years, spent in an era of NYC where 12-hour sets reigned supreme, taught Serge the value of programming designed for a dance floor. In 2006, Serge turned his sights on production beginning with his anthemic take on Beloved's "Sweet Harmony" the following year. The track garnered acclaim from the likes of Pete Tong at Radio 1 and was featured on his show, leading to a stellar chart performance and a worldwide smash. Currently working on his 2nd album, set to release in the fall of 2011, Serge Devant continues to tour bringing his hard-hitting, riveting and classically beautiful sound to fans worldwide.
As a seven year old boy, Sidney started playing the guitar. From there on he knew that he wanted to make music for the rest of his life. After seeing a couple of DMC mix championships, his interests were going towards dj-ing. He started dj-ing in 1995 at the age of 14. During that time he mainly played RnB and HipHop tunes at local clubs. He switched his style completely into housemusic in 1999 and became the resident DJ of the 'Exxellent' nights at one of Holland's biggest clubs The Matrixx in 2003. His producing skills really took off in that period. His first real club banger was called 'Sidney Samson-It's all funked up!' (Spinnin' Records 2003). After this release, Sidney knew that he couldn't stop here and locked himself up in his studio. 'Nobody Move', 'Rock This', 'Girls', 'Aeroplane' and 'Viruz' were some resulting floor fillers, to name but a few.
Describing his current sound as "a mix of dubstep, electro and glitch all thrown together," Skrillex's new release 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' reflects all of the above and beyond. Following its release on Beatport, the 9-song EP dominated the charts on the site, with the title track claiming the site's #1 slot (the first time a dubstep track has ever done so), 8 songs breaking into the top 10, and multiple tracks claiming the #1 slots on several of the site's subgenre charts, including Dubstep, Electro House, Progressive House. Aside from the album's immediate success, Skrillex has also made a name for himself as a highly sought-after remixer having already produced officially commissioned remixes for such A-list artists as the Black Eyed Peas ("Rock That Body"), Lady Gaga ("Bad Romance" and "Alejandro"), and La Roux ("In For The Kill"). Skrillex stands not only at the vanguard of electronic dance music, but the perpetually evolving new music industry as a whole.

Super8 & Tab
Firmly established as Anjunabeats best selling artists behind Above & Beyond, Super8 & Tab rose to the AAA List of the trance scene with last year's "Empire" album. An 11 track journey that ranged from reflective downtempo moments to peak-time anthems, "Empire" left Mixmag "blown away on first listen" thanks to its diverse offerings and hit top 10 in the US and Finnish Dance Charts - completing Super8 & Tab's transition from innovative trance architects to accomplished album artists. In the 12 months since, Super8 & Tab's star has continued to rise further still - becoming the highest ranked Finnish DJs in the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll. Still topping the Beatport trance chart as standard, the Finnish duo now broadcast their SuperTab Radio show on 79 FM stations worldwide and have remixed everything from Above & Beyond's classic "Can't Sleep" to Creeps single "Days", which featured the haunting vocals of The xx's Romy Madley Croft.

The Martinez Brothers
Music always played a significant role in the Martinez home: the boys grew up playing a variety of instruments — keyboards, bass, and mainly drums and percussion. They'd play in church, at home, in various bands around the Bronx. It was their father, a veteran of disco-era clubs like the Paradise Garage, that turned them on to disco and house, via radio programs like Timmy Regisford's Kiss FM show and CDs that he'd bring home in an attempt to expand the boys' musical worldview. What sets apart the Martinez Brothers is their sense of flow. Watch them behind the decks: they don't stop moving. Lean, lanky, all wrists and elbows and ear-to-ear grins, these kids look like they were born to move. They're practically climbing over each other as records flow together, one brother cueing up a track, the other EQing, the headphones passed back and forth, forearms intertwined, heads bobbing in unison. It's amazing to watch. It's even more amazing to hear.

Tommy Lee & DJ Aero
To party with Tommy Lee (the infamous drummer from Motley Crüe) is to have so much $%&*@ fun, it hurts. As DJs and producers, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero's sound is dirty, filthy, nasty electro-house; and since their musical tastes are not constrained to one genre, the duo often veers into techno, progressive, breakbeat and even hip-hop territory. It is one thing to play the same set list of rock songs to stadiums filled with adoring, expectant fans; it's entirely another to walk into a swarming nightclub or festival, read the crowd correctly, and make people dance. Having played together all around the world, Tommy Lee & DJ Aero have also been featured in publications like DJ Times, Big Shot, Billboard, and many more, and had sets air on Sirius XM Radio's Area show and Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1.Loading audio...
For a long time, Slovenia has been known for its great electronic parties, but as the local scene is of boutique dimensions, everyone who wishes to take the art of mixing and producing to a professional level, has to go out there and enter the worldwide scene. Umek has done this step as early as in the middle of the 90s and so he became one of the most important techno players of the global techno scene, even before the end of the last millennium. He successfully captured the first era of researching and recreating the rules of the dance music in Recycled Loops, Consumer Recreation and Astrodisco platforms. Nominations and awards on world's prestigious music contests seem to just pour into Umek's pocket - he was voted to first place on last year's Beatport's world Music Awards in techno category and he’s again nominated; this year as best artist overall, along with David Guetta, Deadmau5, Mark Knight and few others.Loading audio...
